About
Daily German Stories is a reading practice project for beginner German learners working toward the CEFR A1 level. Each day, it offers a short German story with a clear English translation, designed to support steady, stress-free reading practice.
Each story is meant to be read in just a few minutes, making German practice easy to fit into everyday life.
The stories are AI-generated and follow a consistent format and controlled vocabulary scope based on beginner-level materials. They are not reviewed or edited by native German speakers, so some expressions may sound slightly unnatural or simplified. For this reason, the stories should be used as supplementary reading practice, not as a primary or authoritative teaching resource. The goal is not speed or memorization, but consistency: regular reading of short texts to gradually build vocabulary and basic grammar, and to improve overall reading comfort.
You can read the newest story on the home page or browse the most recent stories in the archive.
We also publish each story daily on Instagram and on our Facebook Page. Each story is published as two posts: a reading-focused carousel with vocabulary and grammar support, and a video version designed to combine listening and reading practice.
