Felix und Sarah warten im Kino an der Kasse.

Grammar / Notes

• Possessive determiners (mein dein sein ihr) show who something belongs to and change with the noun: Felix will Sarah einladen und sucht seine Tasche. (“Felix wants to treat Sarah and is looking for his bag.”)
• Imperative du form often uses the verb stem (no -st) to give a direct instruction: „Dann lade ich dich ein, warte einfach hier!“, sagt Sarah und lacht. (“‘Then I’ll treat you, just wait here!’ Sarah says and laughs.”)
• A German pronoun follows its noun’s grammatical gender. Since die Tasche (the bag) is feminine, it is referred to as sie (literally: she): Oh nein, die Tasche liegt noch im Auto! (“Oh no, the bag is still in the car!”)
