Ein Urlaub mit dem Zug

Sonntag, 20. September 2026

Grammar / Notes

  • Perfekt of werden: sein + geworden The Perfekt of werden is formed with sein and the participle geworden and describes a completed change: Er ist krank geworden. The employee explains that flights to Spain have unfortunately become very expensive.”)
  • hätte gern (would like) hätte gern is a polite way to ask for something: Ich hätte gern einen Kaffee means ‘I would like a coffee’. The thing wanted stands in the accusative. I would like an offer for a vacation by train,’ she says.”)
  • im = in + dem im is a contraction of in + dem. Here, dem is the dative form of the article because in takes the dative for a location (Wo?) or a point in time. Heute möchte Frau Weber im Reisebüro eine Reise ans Meer buchen.(“Today Mrs. Weber wants to book a trip to the sea at the travel agency.”)
  • ans = an + das ans is a contraction of an + das. Here, das is the accusative form of the article because an takes the accusative for a destination or change of place (Wohin?). Heute möchte Frau Weber im Reisebüro eine Reise ans Meer buchen.(“Today Mrs. Weber wants to book a trip to the sea at the travel agency.”)
